Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most common questions that clients have asked me previously.

If you have a question not addressed here then please get in touch and I will happily answer.

  • How do sessions begin?

Making the decision to start therapy can be a big step. So I often suggest a free 30 min exploratory phone call or Zoom session to answer any questions you may have and to get a sense if I'm the right therapist for you. The first session is an assessment session which is an opportunity to get to know you and your background better and look at what your goals for therapy may be.

  • How long do they last for?

Sessions are normally for 50  minutes.

  • How many sessions will I need?

This can vary for some people; they just need a few sessions to address immediate issues for others they wish to continue longer term. We usually review after 6 sessions to assess  how therapy is working for you and what you will need going forward. I will be led by you in terms of how many sessions you may want.

  • How often do sessions take place?

Sessions are usually on a weekly basis. Fortnightly sessions can also be arranged after the first 6 sessions if required

  • Where do you do face to face sessions?

I'm able to see clients face to face in comfortable rooms in central Wimbledon just a few minutes walk from Wimbledon train station. Please note these rooms are only accessible via stairs.

  • Can I do my sessions online?

Yes.  I use Zoom to conduct online sessions.

  • How does walk and Talk therapy work?

We will always do the initial session via Zoom. This will enable us to get a sense whether walk and talk therapy is appropriate for you. We then arrange a follow up session in one of the local parks (Wimbledon or Cannizaro Park) . The therapy will often take place while walking, and you will set the pace. There will be times when we may stop or choose to sit for a while depending on the immediate environment and what may  be unfolding in the session. In cases of bad weather the session will relocate to Zoom or be rescheduled.

  • Do you ever do Home Visits?

Yes, if people have difficulties getting out, I'm able to do home visits in the SW19 area only.
